The current restrictions on euthanasia in some areas force a person with intense physical suffering to continue to endure their suffering against their own wished.
Some examples of the symptoms these painful terminal diseases include:
Loss of appetite with intractable nausea and vomiting due to either cancer itself or drug/other therapy including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Obstructing esophageal cancer: with inability to eat or even swallow saliva. Anything swallowed is vomited back.
Total Dependence Syndrome. The loss of dignity due to loss of independence and control in the terminal decaying phase, particularly in hospital. This is a major reason for euthanasia request.
Blockage of lymphatic or venous drainage of tissue fluid causes swelling of limbs, genitalia and face. In severe cases fluid seeps through the skin which breaks down.
Since the law prohibits euthanasia in some areas some people choose to travel to receive the treatment and those trying to support their loved ones would receive a punishment for doing so which is not fair.
